Kia Motors' $1.2 billion West Point plant started production in November, but the wave of parts suppliers didn't stop when the first Sorento SUVs rolled off the line.

Seoul, South Korea-based Hanil E-Hwa Co. Ltd., an automotive interiors manufacturer, will invest $8.45 million to set up a factory in an existing 178,354-square-foot building in LaGrange.

The factory will employ 173, bringing to 3,000 the number of jobs in Georgia attributed to the Kia plant and its suppliers, Gov. Sonny Perdue said in a news release.

“Kia suppliers like Hanil E-Hwa continue to strengthen the recovering economy in west Georgia and throughout the state,” Mr. Perdue said.

Hanil E-Hwa makes door trim, seats, head lining, shelf covering and package trays, among other interior parts.

Those interested in applying for a job at Hanil E-Hwa should mail a resume to the Hanil E-Hwa Human Resource Department at 104 Wiley Rd., LaGrange, Ga., 30240.
