Huber to Expand India Factory

Atlanta-based Huber Engineered Materials will double silica production to 33,000 metric tons annually at its manufacturing plant in Jhagadia, India, by 2012.

Silica made at the plant is used in toothpaste, paints, coatings and paper, products for which Huber projects increased demand in India and the region in the coming years.
The company, a unit of New Jersey-based engineered materials company J.M. Huber Corp., recently opened a silica plant in Qingdao, China.
