The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is a 12-day showcase of outstanding film and video on Jewish themes, featuring a diverse mix of narrative, documentary, studio, independent, international, feature and short length programs. Founded in 2000, the AJFF is now the largest film festival in Atlanta, and second largest Jewish film festival in the United States. The 2009 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is expected to attract an audience of 18,000 and more than 40 international film works. Screenings are supplemented by guest speakers, providing a dynamic forum for audience dialogue with filmmakers, actors, academics and other expert panelists. Moviegoers cast their ballots for the Best Narrative and Best Documentary film of the Festival, with winners receiving the AJFF Audience Award. The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is presented by the Atlanta Chapter of American Jewish Committee, and is made possible with the generous support of corporate, foundation, government and other philanthropic sponsors.
