Lutz Gorgens, Germany’s consul general here, has been appointed a member of the board of directors of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta in his position as dean of the Atlanta Consular Corps.
Dr. Gorgens replaced Reda Mansour, former dean of the consular corps and former consul general of Israel to the Southeast, who has returned to Israel.
The World Affairs Council, a non-profit and non-partisan organization affiliated with Georgia State University and the university’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, automatically invites the acting dean to represent the corps as an ex officio member of the board. The dean is the longest serving consul general of the consular corps.
Dennis Lockhart, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, serves as founding chairman of the council’s board of directors.
